IANTD Normoxic Trimix Plus Instructor
The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Plus Instructor course is designed to certify instructors to teach and safely conduct training for divers using helium-based gas mixtures for dives up to 75 meters (250 feet). The course prepares instructors to teach with multiple stages and decompression cylinders while emphasizing helium and oxygen-rich decompression gas management, multiple gas switches, extended decompression techniques, and deep dive planning.
PREREQUISITES:
Age Requirement:
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
Certification Requirements:
- Must be qualified as an IANTD Advanced EANx Instructor or higher in Active Teaching Status
- Must be qualified as an IANTD Trimix Diver.
Dive Experience:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience
- Must have taught a minimum of eight (8) IANTD Diver Programs which two (2) must be Advanced
EANx Instructor or Higher - Must provide proof of a minimum of 350 logged dives, of which at least 100 were deeper than 132
fsw (40 msw) and at least 25 were on Normoxic Trimix or Trimix.
Duration:
This is a 3-day program designed to guide the instructor candidate in the methods and techniques of teaching the IANTD Normoxic Trimix Plus Diver course. The candidate will also complete required assists as outlined under Prerequisite – Dive Experience.
During the Instructor Development Course (IDC), the candidate must demonstrate strong leadership potential and deliver a minimum of two (2) complete lectures as part of the program.
► NOTE: Non Normoxic Trimix Supervisors must assist two (2) courses which one (1) is in conjunction with the IDC.
